Sweater Weather: The Poncho Edition

Somehow, winter clothes always end up being one step up from pajamas for me. It could be because I can't bear the thought of exiting my cocoon of a bed in the cold mornings - so - I opt for layers upon baggy, cozy layers. Sweater weather to the rescue. And this season, a new trend has stepped up its sweater game... helloooo ponchos.

Mastering a baggy poncho can be tough. I've heard a lot of gal pals say they don't feel like they can pull it off because it swallows them up or makes them feel top heavy. But my dears, that's simply not true! The key is to pair it with leggings or skinny jeans. It's all about proportions [baggy on top slimmer on bottom and vice versa]. And to really even things out, I like to add a shoe that's got a wedge or heel on it to pseudo lengthen the legs when rocking a poncho.

How cute are them gloves? I bought these a couple seasons ago, but they're still in great shape and they may or may not have been my first pair of "grown up" gloves. If you don't have yourself a trendy pair of adult-ish leather gloves, time to add them to your mitten game and become a real lady.

Also, comfy poncho has a hood. Dreams do come true.
