My Year in Photos

2015 has been such a wonderful, whirlwind of a year.  There has been a lot of excitement, adventures, glasses of wine, laughter, moments of reflection, and a few tears.

I like to capture these moments as often as possible. I enjoy taking photos - lots and lots of photos. So with 2016 just around the corner, I wanted to reflect back on my year and share a few of my favorites.

This sweet fur-friend brought me a lot of laugher and love this year. She was really good at head nudges, snuggling, and long walks. I miss her smelly breath, her snorting, and how I couldn't take a shower without her nudging the bathroom door open and smooshing her nose against the shower door. Roxy and I learned a lot about the self-timer this day.

A pretty crappy moment of 2015 was getting my camera bag stolen from my vehicle. I had lost years of photos and memories on some hard drives and I was heartbroken, so once the new camera came, I was on a mission to restock those years of photos. This was the first photo I took on my new camera. Isn't this little lady a beaut?

This is another photo courtesy of the self-timer [we're selfie experts now].

This photo is a great depiction of my friendships - full of wine and celebrations! I'm incredibly fortunate to have a great group of girlfriends. It's hard not to lose yourself in the day to day business of life but I have always been able to count on my girlfriends to keep me grounded and sane.

Walks. We crave these quite moments where we can just wander and explore. We talk about our days and our highs and lows.

I snapped this photo from my iPhone after waking up on our first night camping - a peek through the tent. The small lake that we stayed on was breathtaking! Our trip to Telluride was right after a significant change in my life. The direction I saw myself going no longer made sense and I was craving a little bit of adventure. We took this trip to get away from the chaos and I had no idea just how beautiful it could be.

I love this photo for so many reasons. This photo marks another check off the friend bucket list, an exciting adventure, and a lifelong friendship. The girls and I make it a tradition to check something off of our bucket lists each year for one of our birthdays.  If you look back at Mel's story, you can read about our treehouse adventure.

This photo of my family - man oh man, do I love this crew! I appreciate them for continually embracing and participating in my weirdness. Earlier this year, on our quest to take a family photo, we pulled off to the side of the road and set up the tripod. This photo was the result.

I've been taking a lot of photos of family and friends this year. The photos below are of some wonderful families that have really helped support my love of photography.

Great things are coming on the horizon and I can't wait. Cheers to you. Bring it on, 2016!
